Public Works Laborer I

The City of Ingram Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Laborer I. One full-time, non-exempt position with benefits is currently available, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.

A Laborer I operates a variety of construction and maintenance equipment and performs manual labor for Public Works — most commonly road maintenance, but also park maintenance, sign crews, sewage crews, and related work. Duties include operating pick-up trucks, backhoe, street sweeper, dump trucks, power tools, mowers, and chainsaws; repairing borough roads, curbs, and sidewalks; mowing, weed-whacking, pruning, and planting; removing invasive plants; cleaning offices, garages, and park facilities; and storm sewer maintenance.

Requirements & Benefits

  • Valid Texas State driver’s license
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather and perform heavy manual labor (lifting up to 50 lbs)
